“The Movement “Democratia Acasa” requested that the TV channels Prime TV and Alt TV deny the information that the young people will vote for Dorin Chirtoaca for the post of mayor of Chisinau,” the organization’s movement Vasile Costiuc said in a news conference on June 17, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. On June 15, the Movement gave a news conference, where it called on the young people to vote on June 19. “The communiqué we issued contained a number of coherent arguments that clearly expressed our position. Regretfully, some of the media outlets, by the way in which they treated the subject, showed again that they lack professionalism, impartiality and objectivity as well as fundamental principles on which the activity of the mass media should be based,” said Vasile Costiuc. According to the Movement’s leader, two years after April 7, 2009, the press remained a docile instrument in politicians’ hands, whereby the public opinion is manipulated in the most blatant way. “We reiterate our official position. We want an honest, correct and competent mayor. We want a manager who loves the people and the city that he wants to administer,” said Vasile Costiuc. He expressed his regret at the fact that none of the two candidates for the mayoralty of Chisinau represent the young people. “The Movement “Democratia Acasa” aims to gradually replace the political elite and to completely reform the state functioning system.
