The legislative body Thursday approved the nominal composition of Moldova’s delegations to international parliamentary organizations, Info-Prim Neo reports. The delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be headed by Lib-Dem MP Liliana Palihovici. Its members are: Igor Corman, of the PDM, Valeriu Ghiletski, of the PLDM, Ana Gutu, of the PL, and Communist MP Vladimir Voronin. Communist lawmaker Irina Vlah will lead the delegation to the Moldova-EU Interparliamentary Union. The delegation also consists of Vasile Botnari, of the PDM, Ion Butmalai, Ivan Ionas and Lilian Zaporojan, of the PLDM, Ion Hadarca, of the PL, and Victor Mandru and Gheorghe Popa, of the PCRM. The delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization will be led by Democrat MP Dumitru Diacov. The other members of the delegation are: Igor Dodon, of the PCRM, Valeriu Munteanu, of the PL, and Valeriu Strelet, of the PLDM. Lib-Dem Alexandru Cimbriciuc will head the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Liberal lawmaker Corina Fusu was named as chairwoman of the Moldovan delegation to the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. The delegation’s vice chairpersons are Ina Supac, of the PCRM, and Ghenadie Ciobanu, of the PLDM. Moldova’s delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will be led by Simion Furdui, of the PLDM. The Communist parliamentary group expressed its dissatisfaction with the appointment of a new head of the delegation, arguing Valeri Sova, who headed it until now, is more experienced. The Opposition also said that the delegation to the PACE should include more than one Communist lawmaker as the Communist parliamentary group is the largest one. In the same sitting, Lib-Dem Simion Furdui was named as a member of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau following Mihai Godea’s defection from the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party.
