Defense Ministry’s Consultative-Diagnostic Center outfitted with new equipment

The Consultative-Diagnostic Center of the Ministry of Defense got a hyperbaric chamber and modern diagnostic equipment to the value of US$68,000, which was purchased by UNDP Moldova with funds earmarked by the Ministry of Defense, IPN reports.

“This equipment will help doctors to provide high-quality medical services for military patients and for civilian ones,” said Colonel Andrei Marfin, who manages the Consultative-Diagnostic Center.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing almost pure oxygen in a special room or small chamber. Its main use is to treat acute illness, but it may enhance healing in people with various other conditions, including post-COVID.

The Consultative-Diagnostic Center of the Ministry of Defense was also outfitted with a medical centrifuge used for complex laboratory examinations, two hot air sterilizers and a water distiller.

The given center provides high-quality medical assistance and ambulatory treatment to service members and members of their families, civilian employees and other specific categories of citizens.
