Date of new elections will be discussed in AEI Council meeting, Marian Lupu

The date of the new elections will be disused in a meeting of the Council of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI), the head of the Democratic Party and Acting President Marian Lupu said in a program on Radio Moldova station, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This time everyone knows that there will be no chance if the elections fail again. Now the people will try to think deeper and will see the real value of the vote,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that until the new elections he will negotiate with all the persons who can give votes. “We will also negotiate with Mister Voronin and with the Dodon group as they must understand that this is the last chance. The games either come to an end or there will be held early legislative elections. We should not treat society as people who do not understand. I’m sure that the people see what’s going on and will punish those who hinder the election of the head of state,” said Marian Lupu. The head of state is elected by 61 votes. Marian Lupu polled 58 votes in the December 16 elections. Three votes were against him, while one ballot was declared invalid. The Communist lawmakers did not take part in the voting. New elections will take place within 30 days. If they fail again, the legislative body will be dissolved and early legislative elections will be called.
