School is the place where we develop as citizens, as professionals and, which is more important, as people, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun said in a message disseminated on the occasion of Knowledge Day that is celebrated on September 1. The official called on the students to be courageous and ambitious and to fulfill their dreams through hard work, IPN reports.

The minister noted that the school plays an essential role in the process of integrating into the family of free and democratic European states. The people are the most important resource in society. That’s why the educational policies promoted by the Ministry of Education and Research center on the people.

Dan Perciun expressed his gratitude to teachers for their work, devotion and care. “I call on you to team up with us to improve the school environment and make every effort to enhance the prestige of the profession of teacher. Indeed, it is an ambitious objective, but we will be able to achieve it if each of us continues to be a model of behavior and care for students and our mates,” stated the official.

The minister also said that by active involvement in school life, by the parents’ care and encouragement, the children can be inspired and motivated to study. Both the school and the parents should adjust themselves to the expectations of the children born in the digital era.

Dan Perciun wished everyone a year full of accomplishments, discoveries and new skills.
