The Customs Service identified an additional customs duty of 22.1 million lei following checks conducted during the last 11 days of January, IPN reports.

Specifically, violations of customs legislation were identified, including the unauthorized use of vehicles intended for persons with disabilities and the failure to pay the full excise duty on imported goods.

The authorities urge individuals and legal entities to be vigilant and comply with fiscal and customs legislation.

The economic operator is exempt from material liability if they notify in writing about committing customs violations before they are discovered by the Customs Service.
