A batch of over 7,000 cigarette packages L&M and Doina were found by the customs officers of Sculeni in a bus on the route Chisinau–Suceava. The packages were hidden in a double space in the drivers’ rest room. According to the head of the Press Center of the Customs Service, Ion Magu, this is the biggest capture of smuggled cigarettes. Their value totals 5,400 cigarette packages L&M and 1,640 cigarettes packages „Doina” and gets over 31,000 lei. Both drivers and those two passengers of the bus denied their involvement in the smuggling, claiming these are not their cigarettes. The customs officers of the same Office Sculeni discovered other two cases of currency smuggling. Thus, the driver of a „Dodge” declared, while entering the country, that he has 380 euro, and after checking the car other 3,000 euro were discovered under the shifting box. Another man declared only 900 euro, while the customs officers found other 4,000-euro. The legislation allows getting out RM boundaries up to 5,000 dollars and entering of an unlimited amount, with the compulsory declaration.
