Civil society considers it is not listened to by the government and the authorities promote their interests and actually pretend to be having a dialogue with the people. A number of representatives of civil society, in the talk show “Politics” on TV7 channel, said the government just waits for the people who protest to become tired and to stop exerting pressure on it, IPN reports.

Igor Botan, executive director of the Association for Participatory Democracy (ADEPT), said the government is now simulating successes. “The crisis we experience now is due not to the protests, but to those who are in power. They chose a minority Government that resigned. They named the Strelet Government and then dismissed it. Now they pretend to be solving the problems that they created themselves. They simulate a dialogue with civil society. This means that they do not want to change the state of affairs. They want to bring the protest movement to a state of tiredness,” stated the political analyst.

Ion Dron, head of the Center of Initiatives and Public Authorities Monitoring, considers there is no connection in Moldova between the people and the state and between the voters and those who are voted. “Since 2010, everyone has said that the political class is unable to change the state of affairs. The crisis is due to the inability to manage things. During 25 years, the management and development of the human potential in Moldova hasn’t been a priority for the governments. This is the drama we live,” said the jurist.

Anatol Taranu, head of the Center for Political Research and Consultancy “Politicon”, said there is no institutionalized dialogue between the authorities and civil society. “The latest events show that the government does not react to the signals formulated and transmitted by civil society. When there is an open conflict between society and the government and this conflict is manifested through street protests, they should not act in the way they act now. For example, they didn’t even try to explain why Mihai Poalelungi is the only candidate for the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice,” he stated.

The head of the public association “Justice and Democracy” Pavel Midrigan noted that no power is eternal and, if not today, tomorrow or in three years the people will explode and will take revenge on those from the government. If the electoral system is now not modified, new people will not come to power. If the electoral rolls remain the same, competent people will not come to power soon. In three years, the same people will come to power.
