CUB: We’ve got feeling that we are witnessing coordinated ruining of state institutions

The Party “Coalition for Unity and Wellbeing” (CUB) calls on the state institutions and the international community to take note of the destabilization of the political situation in the Republic of Moldova and of the transformation of the election campaign into a chaos that affects the political process, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the CUB leaders made a call to Moldova’s development partners following press reports about the fact that the leader of the Party “Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe” Arina Spătaru played the role of an agent under cover and had the mission to thwart the plan of fugitive politician Ilan Shor. During several months, her main duty was to make a common front with Ilan Shor so as to find out details about the parties founded by the politician and how he is helped by the Kremlin in this regard.

“The political arena became a training ground for oligarchs and intelligence services,” said CUB chairman Igor Munteanu. According to him, these movements on the political arena have a negative impact on the state institutions. “It is for the first time that a politician claims that she has fulfilled espionage duties on the territory of a foreign state and it is for the first time that the leader of a political party claims that she has worked under cover, making reference to state institution that should take care of their reputation. It goes to the SIS, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, the NAC and probably other institutions,” stated Igor Munteanu.

“We want to know if this is a usual practice for the SIS to become involved in political processes in the Republic of Moldova and if the senior administration was informed about this or not,” notd the CUB leader.

CUB secretary general Igor Klipii said that this case revealed the inconsistency of particular Moldovan institutions, the incapacity to manage the political processes in the country, the turning of the political life into bedlam. “We know that enormous sums of money come to the Republic of Moldova by illegal ways. We know that at the local level, they rumor about the circulation of ill-gotten gains. There is nothing new here. We call on the international community to pronounce on this,” stated Igor Klipii.

The CUB considers the development partners’ reaction is important for realizing how the democratic and European path of the Republic of Moldova will continue.
