Croatia willing to join Common Visa Application Center
Croatia is interested in ensuring a European future for all its neighbours and for all the states of the Southeast Europe region, President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic told Speaker Marian Lupu at a meeting in Chisinau.
Stjepan Mesic said that Croatia pleads for accelerating the unification of Europe by respecting the interests of all the states in the region, both of the big players and of the small countries. The unified Europe can become a bastion of peace, the Croatian head of state said.
The Croatian president assured again that Croatia will assist Moldova on the European integration path, stressing that Moldova’s place is in Europe. In this connection, he said that his county is willing to join the EU Common Visa Application Centre.
Marian Lupu said for his part that Moldova counts on Croatia’s support in offering it a European prospect and on a new European context of stability, development, security and peace. “We hope that the European Neighbourhood Policy will not substitute the European integration process, but will be a logical stage of integration into the area of European standards and values,” the head of the Moldovan Parliament said.
