Cristian-Leon Țurcanu proposed for Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania suggested Cristian-Leon Țurcanu for the post of ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

A career diplomat, Cristian-Leon Țurcanu in 2016 served as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine. Earleir, in September 2014 – October 2015, he held the post of first officer at the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau.

In the External Service, he also worked at the Embassy of Romania in Washington in 2008-2012 and at the Embassy of Romania in Berlin in 2003-2008.

He speaks English, German, Swedish and also studied French, Italian and Russian.

Ambassador Daniel Ioniță was recalled by a decree signed by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis on February 4.
