"The crisis is so serious that we cannot count the enterprises that ceased operations. All industrial enterprises stopped work, except for those involved in food production. There are no energy resources for other enterprises," said the so-called minister of economy of the Transnistrian region.
Together with the end of gas transit from Russia to the Transnistrian region, industrial enterprises on the left bank of the Nistru stopped their activities, except for those that ensure food security, IPN reports, with reference to the press in Tiraspol.
As the so-called minister of economy Sergei Obolonik said, if the energy crisis continues, there is a risk that production will not be restarted at all.
"The problem of gas supply is so complex that, if it is not solved for a long period of time, we will experience irreversible changes. This means that enterprises will lose the opportunity to reopen and operate again," noted Sergei Obolonik.
A state of emergency in the economy was declared in the Transnistrian region. The population does not receive gas, heat and hot water in their homes. The supply of thermal energy to schools, kindergartens and administrative buildings in the Transnistrian region was also stopped.
