COVID-19 medicines confiscated on Chisinau Airport

A foreigner tried to smuggle 344 packets of medicines for treating COVID-19 into Moldova through the Chisinau International Airport. According to preliminary reports, the drugs were bought in Bangladesh and were to be illegally sold in Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the Customs Service, customs functionaries redirected the passenger of the Istanbul-Chisinau flight, who chose the green corridor (nothing to declare), to the red corridor for being searched. The 41-year-old man hid the medicines in the hold baggage without declaring them during the customs check.

After his hold baggage was scanned, packets of such medicines as “Molenzavir”, “Molvir”, “Monuvir” and “Emorivir” for treating SARS-CoV-2 were found inside this. The drugs were confiscated.
