Marriages will be able to be registered not only at the Public Services Agency, but also with notaries, according to a draft approved Wednesday by the government, IPN reports.
All civil status facts and events occurring outside the country will be integrated into the ASP database, and civil status documents will be issued electronically.
"Through this project, the Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Public Services Agency and the Electronic Government Agency, aim to simplify the processing of applications and reduce bureaucracy. In this way, citizens will benefit from more efficient services and easier interactions with the authorities", reads a press release.
One major change is the elimination of the classic process, which required at least one visit to the ASP to pick up the paper certificate. From now on, civil status facts and events will be recorded electronically and extracts will be issued digitally.
