The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) said that on April 1, 2023 it indexed the pensions and other social allowances by the indexation coefficient of 15%. The cost of indexation is of over 3 billion lei for this year, IPN reports.

In a press release, CNAS says the indexation was performed according to Article 13 of the state social insurance budget law for 2023, which provides that in the case of pension indexation of April 2023, the indexation coefficient will not exceed the percentage growth of the own revenues of the state social insurance budget for 2022 against those of 2021 and will be applied only to the part of the pension that does not exceed the average official salary forecast for 2023.

The indexation coefficient is approved by the Cabinet. This year, all the pensions and some of the social allowances were indexed by 15%.
