Cooperation priority area Roadmap was signed with Romania

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Ramona Manescu, signed today, October 9, in Chișinău, the Roadmap on the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries.

"We have reached a time when our strategic partnership must use our common language and culture in order to accelerate the construction of common infrastructure such as bridges, gas pipelines and interconnections in the field of communications. Only through our bilateral relations we can firmly and irreversibly anchor the Republic of Moldova into the European space”, declared the head of the Moldovan diplomacy.

Minister Ramona Mănescu reiterated Romania's firm resolve to further support the efforts of the Chișinău authorities to respect the commitment to the European path and to strengthen the bilateral Strategic Partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. "The European path, the modernization and consolidation of state structures and administration and future reforms, will all lead to an increase in the standard of living and welfare of Moldovan citizens", the Romanian official emphasized.

The two ministers agreed on the need to focus additional efforts in order to overcome the deadlock in implementing environmental protection, public finances and cross-border cooperation projects.
