Contest to fill post of Court of Auditors president

The parliamentary commission for public finance control has launched a competition to fill the position of president of the Court of Auditors, which is currently occupied by former Democratic MP Marian Lupu. The decision to launch the contest was approved on Friday after examining the Parliament Speaker’s order to select a candidate for this post, IPN reports.

Candidates for president of the Court of Auditors must have economic, financial or legal education and at least ten years’ experience in these fields, including five years’ managerial experience. According to the contest regulations, candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, know the Romanian language, have no criminal record, be professionally upright and not be under ban from holding a public post.

Those interested can apply until February 9, 2024. The competition will include the examination of candidates’ CVs and an interview.

Under the legislation, the Court of Audit consists of seven members and is headed by a president.

The former Speaker of Parliament Marian Lupu, ex-Democratic MP, was appointed president of the Court of Accounts for a five-year term by a Parliament decision in February 2019.
