Contact points for business opened in 8 towns
Contact points for business destined to business starters as well as all interested persons were opened in 8 towns in Moldova. They were created within the Economic Divisions of the District Councils with financial and technical support from the EU-funded project “Support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Rural Areas”.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the specialists of these centres will provide informational support to persons interested in launching a business and business starters. The main purpose is to provide information on the legal framework regulating the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises, inform citizens about competent bodies in the domain, about consultancy providers, programmes financed by donors and others.
In order to motivate citizens to launch businesses, the authors of the project worked out a range of practical instruments, including the “I want to launch a business” guidebook. The paper provides information related to the legal framework, taxes and duties, staff management, business plans and others. Another publication, “The best practices of launching and developing a business in rural areas” illustrates the examples of successful business ideas in different villages of Moldova. The books can be found at the contact points for business created in Edinet, Glodeni, Singerei, Rezina, Ungheni, Causeni, Leova and Comrat.
The EU/Tacis project “Support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Rural Areas” is implemented by a consortium formed of the International Development Ireland (IDI) in partnership with CEEN.
