Consumers on Chisinau streets Grenoble, Cuza Voda and Traian likely to remain without water

After its administrative block was disconnected from the power supply due to debts, Apă-Canal Chișinău announced that its program was disrupted and the negative consequences follow one another. In a post, the company said that in Botanica and Telecentru, some of the blocks are not supplied with water as there is no pressure in the networks. The consumers on Grenoble, Cuza Voda and Traian streets will remain without water in the evening, primarily those from the upper floors. Generators are being used to save the situation and continue to supply water, IPN reports.

Deputy mayor of Chisinau Irina Gutnic said that a generator was activated at about 10am, but this worked for a short period of time and broke down. “It is too costly for
Apa-Canal Chișinău now to repair this generator as money should be collected to clear the debt first,” she stated.

Premier Energy notified the water supplier of the fact that on February 2 it will disconnect two power using installations of this so as not to allow the debt to increase further. The debt now totals 68.6 million lei and the sum includes expired bills that remained unpaid since November 2022.
