Consultations upon the Conventional Armed Force Treaty in Europe

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova (MFAEI) and of Germany discussed in Chisinau, between the 4th and 5th of April, the problem of the Conventional Armed Force Treaty (CAFT) and about the Transnistrian conflict, a press release of the MFAEI announce, cited by Info-Prim Neo. According to the cited source, the key subject of the discussions was the necessity that Russia fulfils it’s engagements taken at the OSCE Summit in Istanbul (1999) regarding the complete withdrawal of military forces and munitions from the territory of The Republic of Moldova. The Ministry specifies that German MFA’s delegation met with the Minister of Reintegration, Vasili Sova, and the vice-Minister of MFAEI, Eugenia Kistruga. Moldo-German consultations are an upcoming stage for the Evaluation Conference of the CAFT treaty implementation, which will take place at the end of May, at Vienna, added the cited source. The Chisinau Round is a continuation of the consultations upon the same subjects examined in the summer of 2004 in Berlin.
