The Constitutional Court validated seat of MP of Mihai Solcan, who will form part of the Democratic group. The decision was passed unanimously on June 20 following a request made by the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.

Mihai Solcan became a lawmaker after the person who came before him in the list of substitute candidates of the Democratic Party refused to fill the seat. The seat of MP fell vacant after Democratic lawmaker Vasile Botnari was named Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure in the Government headed by Iurie Leanca.

The new Democratic MP is economist by profession and is a lecturer at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.
