Constitutional Court to validate seats of 12 new lawmakers

The Constitutional Court on February 17 will examine the Central Election Commission's request to validate the seats of MP distributed to the substitute candidates, Info-Prim Neo reports. In its first meeting in the new composition on February 15, the Commission mandated 12 persons to replace the lawmakers who renounced the seats in Parliament as they chose to hold other posts. The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group fielded Elena Frumosu, Iurie Apostolachi, Simion Grisciuc, Victor Bodiu, Maria Nasu, and Iurie Chiorescu. The Democratic group will include Stella Jantuan, Valentina Stratan, Gheorghe Brashovschi and Oleg Sarbu as new MPs. Valeriu Saharneanu will fill the vacant post of MP in the Liberal group, while Ghenadie Morcov will represent the Communist Party in Parliament.
