Concerts mobilizing interest for elections take place in Cahul and Balti

Many artists will give concerts in Cahul and Balti on February 21 and 22, in an attempt to raise the interest of young people for the parliamentary elections of April 5, 2009, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the organizers – the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) “Viitorul.” On February 21, at 18.00, Vasile Alecsandri theater from Balti will offer a non-political concert entitled “How you vote, so you live.” Artist Gheorghe Urschi will perform a recital of 40 minutes, and then Natalia Barbu, Alexa, Onnik, Chocolate, London will sing. The Dance Square of Cahul will shelter a music event on February 22, from 18.00, in which Catharsis, Natalia Barbu, Onnik, Chocolate, London will participate. In premiere, the unofficial anthem of the campaign, written by Ianos Turcanu will be presented at the civic concerts. A similar event will unfold in Chisinau, on February 27. This initiative is a part of a project called “Challenging the civic responsibility within the electoral campaign of 2009,” financed by the Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova, by means of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights.
