The veterans of the Second World War will receive by 600 lei, while the widows of war veterans by 500 lei on the occasion of the Victory Day marked on May 9. The compensations will be available from the branches of Banca de Economii (in Chisinau) and post offices (in villages). Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, press officer of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family Elena Capatana said the compensations allocated from the national population support fund will be distributed through the local funds. The lump sum is released on the presentation of the identity card. A third person can receive the compensation by power of attorney. According to the Ministry, almost 8,700 persons will benefit from such compensations. A sum of 4.7 million lei was earmarked in the state budget for the purpose.
