The procedure for determining and paying compensation for transportation services will be carried out without the physical presence of applicants and without the need for supporting documents, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection proposes. The procedure will involve automated mechanisms, IPN reports.

Approximately 120,000 people with disabilities benefit from compensation for transportation services. The compensation amount for people with severe disabilities for a quarter is 240 lei, and for those with profound disabilities and children with disabilities under the age of 18, it is 480 lei, which also includes compensation for the persons accompanying them.

In addition to the compensation amounts mentioned, individuals with mobility disabilities (including children with mobility disabilities under the age of 18) will receive a supplement of 270 lei per quarter.

The payment of this benefit is currently made by the service provider based on lists prepared by the territorial social assistance structures, in accordance with the documents presented by the applicant.
