Communists were kept away from voting, Marian Lupu
The only candidate for the presidency Marian Lupu said the Communist MPs were kept away from voting by force by the administration of the PCRM. “They weren’t allowed to decide by themselves. We know this. They were held in a certain place,” Marian Lupu said after the special sitting of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”I regret it that not all the lawmakers realize what national interest, stability and predictability in our country mean. Moldova indeed had a chance. There will be one more attempt. Those who will be against the stability and the state will bear responsibility before society,” said Marian Lupu.
He also said he was sure that the only invalidated ballot belongs to a person from the alliance who must be identified. “I will not make hasty conclusions. But this thing leaves a stain. We will ask for video materials to clarify the station,” said the AEI’ws candidate.
The chairman of the PLDM Vlad Filat said it is necessary to secure the necessary votes before the new elections. “We must communicate and be realistic so as to elect the head of state in the next elections. We will hold discussions,” he stated. He confirmed that the AEI signed the annex to the AEI agreement before the elections.
The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said the situation at the new elections will be different as the responsibility and the fears will be greater.
The December 16 elections failed. The head of state is elected by 61 votes. Marian Lupu polled 58 votes. Three votes were against him, while one ballot was declared invalid. The Communist lawmakers did not take part in the voting.
New elections will take place within 30 days. If they fail again, the legislative body will be dissolved and early legislative elections will be called.
