Communists’ protests are aimed at hindering European integration, statement

The protests staged by the Communist Party are designed to destabilize the internal situation. They are encouraged by influential circles from outside the country given that the country is coming closer to the EU, considers the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat, IPN reports.

Vlad Filat told a news conference that the initiation by the parliamentary opposition of the censure motion to dismiss the Government is illogical and is aimed at destabilizing the situation and at hindering the European integration process. This is an act of political irresponsibility on the part of the Communists. “It seems that some do not like the approaching moment, the unity and success achieved by Moldova and thus try by all means to destabilize the situation and to hamper Moldova from following the chosen course. I will say it clearly and plainly – they will not succeed,” said the leader of the PLDM.

He stated that the censure motion to dismiss the Government does not have chances to be passed in Parliament. He called on the state institutions to step up their efforts to prevent provocations and to appropriately respond to the provokers. He also called upon the whole political class to show consistency and responsibility and to condemn Communists’ actions.
