Communists are our enemy number 1 in race: PSD secretary
“The PSD's main competitor in this race is the Communists Party,” Eduard Musuc, dismissed from the position of chairman of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) Friday, February 13, told a news conference on Monday, February 16. “That is because we're on the same left-center-left segment,” the secretary of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) explained, implying the political spectrum.
“If my candidature was voted also by the PCRM (the Communists Party), that does not mean I was enthroned by the PCRM. I have always had an independent position,” Eduard Musuc said. On June 6, 29\008, he was elected as the CMC's chair, instead of Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu.
The politicians being after Dumitru Braghis in the top of the list of parliamentary aspirants of the PSD, accuses “the councilors supporting Vasile Tarlev (Centrist Union) in this race” for supporting the initiative of his sacking, but gave no names.
The former chairman of the CMC called “irresponsible” most of the councilors, accusing them that, by firing him, they set their electoral interests above the interests of the Chisinau residents. In the first round of the local elections of the summer of 2007, Eduard Musuc gained some 3% of votes in the race for the position of Chisinau's mayor.
Referring to the issue of big heating bills for January, the PSD councilor called on the Chisinau people not to pay them, until the CMC “passes a correct and fair decision in this respect.” He slammed the heat distributor for its method employed in calculating the heat consumption, saying it is illegal. Moreover, a communique distributed at the conference reads that “the PSD has accused the Ghimpu-Urecheanu-Filat liberal grouping for the overvalued heat bills for December and for not granting the heat compensations automatically” to vulnerable categories.
