Communist lawmakers leave assembly hall

The parliamentary group of the Communist Party (PCRM) withdrew from the March 24 sitting of the legislative body. The MPs did not wait until the ad hoc meeting of the ruling alliance ended as it lasted for much longer than announced, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Communist faction has to leave the assembly hall as the alliance showed once again disrespect and attempted to intimidate our group. The alliance does what is wants and provides no explanations. This is the first case of the kind in the history of Moldova’s Parliament,” said Communist lawmaker Vadim Misin. He also said that no matter what decision is taken in the ad hoc meeting, the government coalition will fall apart in the near future as they cannot reach a compromise on a number of important subjects, including those concerning the state budget. Vadim Misin demanded through the agency of the press that Speaker Marian Lupu apologize publicly to the PCRM for the caused inconveniences. When the Communist MPs were leaving, the leaders of the parliamentary groups of the PDM, PLDM and PL returned to the hall as they finished the meeting. But the Communists refused to stop and went out of the Parliament’s building. Asked by the reporters to comment on Vadim Misin’s statements, Marian Lupu said the Communist lawmaker dreams that the alliance will dismember, but it will not happen. However, in several minutes Marian Lupu apologized to the Communist faction for the delay. The Alliance for European Integration withdrew for an ad hoc meeting during the Parliament’s sitting. The main subject discussed was the fiscal policy bill that aroused disagreements in the parliamentary commission on economy.
