A commission was set up by order of Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru to administer the liquidation of the Shor Party, which was declared unconstitutional in June.
The Ministry of Justice meanwhile clarifies that the political party is already considered dissolved from the moment the Constitutional Court pronounced its decision, and any acts issued by the Shor Party have no legal value. However, its formal existence will only cease after the commission completes the liquidation procedure and ensures its erasure from the State Register of Legal Entities.
Considering that this is an unprecedented situation, in setting up the commission, the MoJ sough to ensure the participation of relevant public authorities in it. These include the Central Electoral Commission, the State Fiscal Service, the Ministry of the Interior, as well as legal professionals specializing in liquidation procedures of legal entities.
The Shor Party was declared unconstitutional on 19 June 2023 after the Constitutional Court found that it had repeatedly engaged in activities that violated the principles of the rule of law and national interests. The party’s representatives condemned the decision as “abusive and criminal”.
