Commission on mass media selects three candidates for BCC member

The parliamentary commission on culture, education, youth and mass media chose three candidates for filling the vacancies on the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC). These are Dinu Ciocan fielded by the PDM, Nicolae Damschin proposed by the PLDM, and Mariana Onceanu-Hadarca put forward by the PL. The Communist members of the commission did not take part in the voting, Info-Prim Neo reports. Communist MP Ina Supac said the majority alliance chose the winners before the voting and there was no use participating in it. Before the voting, she wrote three names on a sheet of paper, saying the commission will select namely these candidates One of the candidates, Aurelian Lavric, who was fielded by the Metropolitan Bessarabian Church, also questioned the objectivity of the members of the commission. The voting was held behind closed doors. After the results were announced, Ina Supac said the names of the three candidates that she wrote on the paper coincided with the names of the selected candidates “It is a sheer coincidence. These persons are indeed the best. That’s why we elected them,” said Liberal-Democrat MP Iurie Bolboceanu. The three candidates selected by the commission will be examined in Parliament. The Broadcasting Coordination Council has nine members. Three posts of member became vacant after the tenures of Carmelia Albu, Valeriu Soltan and Ruslan Plesca expired.
