Commemorative coin with face value of 10 lei available from central bank’s cash desk

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) decided to distribute the commemorative coin with the face value of 10 lei through its cash desk situated at 1 Grigore Vieru Avenue, Chisinau. The decision was taken following multiple demands from citizens, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the NBM.

The coin can be obtained in exchange for banknotes or coins covering the face value of 10 lei on December 28, 2018 and during January 2-4, 2019, from 10:00am to 12:00am.

As many as 5,000 coins will be distributed overall through the NBM’s cash desk and a person can receive at most two units. As a rule, the banknotes and coins are put into circulation through licensed banks, based on their requests. 

The commemorative coin with the face value of 10 lei is accepted as means of payment on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and circulates simultaneously with the banknotes and metallic coins with the face value of 10 lei.

This coin was introduced on November 29, 2018 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency of the Republic of Moldova.
