The cold-month allowance was included in the energy compensation program “Meter Assistance” and will be provided in addition to subsidies in bills, in the form of monthly payment, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection said that such a decision was taken to simplify access to financial assistance provided during the cold period of the year and for the authorities to make sure that all the socially deprived families benefit from state support to cope with the heating costs.
To benefit from this financial assistance, the families will register on the platform compensatii.gov.md as from November 1. The persons who do not have technical devices or do not have digital skills will be helped to register by social assistants or librarians from the locality.
The changes in the procedure for providing cold-month allowances were stipulated in the Law on the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund which was amended on September 15 this year. More amendments will be made soon to the normative framework to put the already adopted changes into practice.
