The Ministry of Justice received the final results of the contest to fill the posts of secondary jurists at the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights from the Council of Europe (CoE). Thus, of the eight candidates proposed by the Ministry, the CoE accepted three, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry says the three accepted candidates are: Dumitrita Bologan, Cornel Sotnic and Ludmila Petroman. The CoE described all of the candidates as excellent professionals, but noted that the chosen persons have the most suitable profile for fulfilling specific duties.

Dumitrita Bologan has worked as a senior legal adviser at the Norwegian Mission Experts of Rule of Law Advisers to Moldova (NORLAM) for six years and also taught at the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova. Cornel Sotnic is the legal adviser of a group of agricultural companies, while Ludmila Petroman has worked as a division head at the Ministry of Justice for many years.

The initial period of validity of the contract is of a year, but this could be extended for a new term. The jurists will be engaged in the work of the Registry and will provide assistance in applications against Moldova. They won’t be employees of the ECHR or the CoE. The remuneration conditions, social guarantees and other compensatory payments will be defined in an individual agreement between the accepted candidates and the Government of Moldova.
