Coats of arms of Moldovan settlements on postage stamps

The state-run company “Posşta Moldovei” (“Moldova’s Post Office”) on March 7 put into circulation a series of postage stamps representing the coats of arms of a number of settlements. The design was created by Nicolae Sarbu, IPN reports.

The postage stamps with the coat of arms of Causeni town were printed in a number of 1 million copies. One stamp costs 0.10 lei. The stamps with the arms of Hancesti town, issued in a number of 500,000 copies, cost 0.25 lei.

The price of a stamp with the coat of arms of Ungheni town, with an issue of 500,000, is 1 leu, while that of the stamp with the arms of Orhei town, with an issue of 600,000 lei, is 1.2 lei.

The most expensive stamps are those representing the coat of arms of the municipalities of Balti and Chisinau. They cost 3 lei and, respectively, 5 lei. Both of them were issued in a number of 300,000 copies.
