A sum of 23 million lei was transferred today by the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) for paying unemployment benefit to 2,473 persons who are officially registered as unemployed and to 10,853 recipients who became entitled to such benefit during the state of emergency, IPN reports.

In a press release, the CNAS says the unemployment benefit of 2,775 lei a month during the state of emergency was calculated since the recipients became entitled to such a right. The related costs are covered with state budget funds.

The unemployment benefit is paid through the agency of the payment service providers chosen by the beneficiaries and through post offices and banks.

The CNAS said that it recently made the transfers for paying state allowances for special merits, state monthly allowances, monthly compensations provided in exchange for food products, compensations to participants in the Chernobyl cleanup, pensions, social assistance and cold-month allowances.
