CNAS provides details about setting of pension and other social benefits

Those who become entitled to pensions and other social welfare during March 17 – May 15, 2020 will file applications and the documents necessary for setting these benefits to the local house of social insurance after the state of emergency is lifted, the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) has said.

In a press release that is quoted by IPN, the CNAS says that during the state of emergency, the periods for providing social benefits do not start or, if they started, are suspended for the duration of the state of emergency.

The pension will be calculated since the day the given right is obtained, if the application and the necessary documents are submitted during different periods of time after the state of emergency is lifted: within 30 days for old-age pension; within 60 days for disability pension, and within 90 days for the successor’s pension.

If the person became entitled to a pension or another social benefit before the decreeing of the state of emergency and this didn’t submit an application to get the benefit for various reasons, the calculation of the period is suspended and the period that remains for submitting an application will continue to be calculated since the state of emergency is lifted.

The same approach will be applied as regards the periods for providing all the social benefits set by the local houses of social insurance.
