The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) on July 20 transferred the last tranche for paying the newly set pensions in the amount of 8.9 million lei. The recipients can collect the money from the post office or through bank cards, the CNAS said in a press release that is quoted by IPN.
In July the CNAS paid pensions, allowances, allocations, financial support, social assistance and compensations on time and in the full amount of 1.942 billion lei.
Under the law, the payment of pensions, financial support, social assistance and cold-month allowances that are not collected during a period of six months is suspended. The payment of monthly allowances for families with children is suspended if these allowances are not collected during a period of three months.
The payment of the pension is resumed from the month the recipients file an application and the documents confirming their identity to the local house of social insurance, with the money being paid retroactively since the suspension date. The other suspended allowances are paid retroactively for a period of at most three years prior to the date an application is filed. The suspended sums are included in the information system “Social Protection” for each beneficiary.
The benefits are not paid completely because not all the recipients collect the sums monthly, in cash, from the post office for different reasons, such as leaving of the country, state of health and stay in medical institutions. They can later apply to collect the amounts to which they are entitled.
