CMC nominates candidates for Chisinau Electoral Council
The Chisinau District Electoral Council (CDEC) no.1 will have 11 members, according to the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council made on Tuesday, April 3. The CMC appointed 2 candidates for the office of CDEC members.
According to the legislation, the Chisinau Municipal Council has to nominate the candidates at least 50 days before the elections, which will be held on June 3.
At the same time, the head of the Local Public Administration Department, Ludmila Burlaca said that according to the share calculated by the Central Election Committee, 4 of those 11 members of CDEC are proposed by the Communist Party and a person each by “Moldova Noastra” Alliance, Democrat Party of Moldova and People’s Christian-Democrat Party. Other two persons are proposed by the Centru District Court and other two by the Municipal Council.
The two candidates are Aliona Cazac, jurist, head of the Architecture, Urbanism and Landed Relations Department, and Ion Cretu, professor at the State University of Moldova.
Also, 4 reserve candidatures were nominated.
According to the legislation, the candidates nominated by the Chisinau Municipal Council and the Centru District Council shall not be councillors in the local councils and members of parties or social-political organisations participating in elections.
