CMC examines transport development program
Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) will examine the draft a new municipality transport development program, drafted by general public transport and communications department (DGTPCC) of CMC. A recommendation in this sense was voted within the joint meeting of two profile commissions within CMC - for energetic, technical services, transport and communications and budget, economy, finance and local public property, as well as the special commission on problems of tariffs in public transport, created several months ago.
Head of DGTPCC, Veaceslav Tarna informed that the program was set up in 2005, it also was examined than by certain CMC commissions.
According to him, the program stipulates modification of certain normative acts in order to be adjusted to transporters’ needs, purchasing of new transport units, rebuilding of certain roadways, redirecting certain transport inflows, etc. As examples, Terna pointed the connection roads between the Rascani and Ciocana districts, building a two-leveled roadway crossing on the Vadul lui Voda, Ismail, Calea Mosilor and Calea Basarabiei streets.
He also mentioned that draft’s authors took into consideration the General Urban Plan (PUG) of Chisinau municipality, which is still under construction.
National Institute of Researches and Designing for Territorial Management, Urbanism and Architecture „Urbanproiect”, which projects PUG, mentioned previously that for resolving the traffic problem in the downtown, it is foreseen to build three circular roadways.
