A 59-year-old woman who worked in the ancillary service at the Leușeni border crossing point died struck by a tanker at the workplace. Ana Markitan, press officer of the Border Police, has told IPN that the accident happened at about 10:20am on February 5.

The driver, without receiving the consent of the border policeman, moved to change the lane and hit the woman who was passing in front of the vehicle, without seeing her.

The driver is 29. He was travelling to Romania where the tanker was to be loaded with fuel. He was taken in custody by employees of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate.
