City Hall devises additional measures to mitigate effects of thermo-energy crisis
The Commission for Emergencies of the Chisinau municipality has approved a set of additional measures aimed at alleviating the consequences of the thermo-energy crisis, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the local administration.
Assessing the situation in the heating sector, the Commission ascertained that if the gas supplies are used up, the crude oil and electric power will remain the major sources of thermal energy. It was also established that there are no risks that the electricity or drinking water supply will be cut off in the municipality.
Therefore, the Commission decided not to suspend the activity of the institutions and approved a series of measures to deal with the shortage of gas in the municipality. The heads of the services and subdivisions of the Chisinau Municipal Council and City Hall were ordered that they maintain the regime for saving gas, alternative fuel and electric power and conserve the heat; make sure that the municipal institutions, departments and companies continue working and that the population is supplied with electricity, drinking water, food products, medical assistance, transport and other services; suspend the classes in pre-university and pre-school education institutions if the gas supplies are used up and no alternative resources can be used instead; insure the provision of the municipal boarding schools with additional alternative sources of energy if the heat supply is halted; provide the necessary medical and social assistance and put into practice the set of measures aimed at preventing cases of hypothermia; transfer the patients of the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Contagious Diseases for Children to relevant national and municipal institutions if necessary.
The steps taken to reduce the effects of the energy crisis also include: the provision of temporary accommodation to the persons that cannot heat their dwellings (invalids, pensioners, solitary persons and others.); strict observance of the anti-fire rules when using electrical heating devices; permanent verification and monitoring of the state of the systems, cables and switches by the consumers, private individuals and legal entities; prevention of the faulty working of the piping system by drainage; permanent verification, monitoring and preparation of the systems for re-launch; maintenance of contact with the population, especially with the socially vulnerable groups of people, through all the communications means, mainly the specialized services 901, 902, 903 and central dispatchers’ offices 22-22-67, 21-27-98. The municipal services and subdivisions will present the collected information for generalization to the Chisinau Department for Emergencies. The contact phone numbers are 22-11-54, 22-55-56.
At the same time, the Commission for Emergencies and the Chisinau City Hall call on the population to take measures to conserve the thermal energy, maintain the regime for saving gas, alternative fuel and electric power and conserve the heat, strictly observe the anti-fire rules when using electrical heating devices, permanently verify and monitor the state of the systems, cables and switches, implement the set of measures aimed at preventing cases of hypothermia, call the municipal services in case of emergency through the specialized dispatchers’ offices at 901, 902, 903, and at the central dispatchers’ office - 22-22-67, 21-27-98.
