City Council meetings will be broadcast online until yearend
The committee for the coordination of the UNDP Project “Development of the Municipality of Chisinau” has approved the plan of action for the second half of 2008. Among the planned activities is the online broadcasting of the meetings of the Chisinau Municipal Council and City Hall through the official webpage of the Chisinau authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the City Hall’s Public Relations Division, the municipal authorities will benefit from assistance in improving the financial management and the administration of public assets, in better planning and administering the urban space and in enhancing the quality of the provided services.
The coordination committee includes representatives of the donor institutions, municipal public administration, civil society, the Ministry of Local Public Administration and of the Public Administration Academy under the President of Moldova.
Earlier, UNDP in Moldova expressed readiness to help increase the efficiency of the local public administration and proposed a project to reorganize the City Hall’s apparatus and, eventually, the divisions subordinated to the City Council. UNDP offered to carry out an analysis of the existent divisions at the initial stage. At the second stage, it intended to propose, depending on the development strategies of the municipality, optimal methods for optimizing the municipal administration in a market economy. The UNDP project also envisions optimizing decision making by analyzing the information flows, improving the planning, monitoring, assessment and reporting systems, managing the human resources and public finances.
