CIS leaders voice for creating single info-space within Community
The heads of states participating in the CIS informal summit have touched on diverse issues related to the cooperation of the member-states in the information area, pleading for the plenary usage of the whole potential of the MIR inter-state TV- and Radio company to create a single info-space in the Community, Info-Prim Neo reports as informed by a communiqué of the Moldovan Presidency.
The summit was held on February 22 in Moscow and the Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin joined it.
According to the release, the participants in the informal reunion discussed different issues concerning the cooperation of the member-countries, especially tackling the plan on realising the Concept on developing the CIS. Matters linked to the economic development of the Community, to the migration policy within the CIS, as well as to modernising the transport infrastructure were considered.
They exchanged views as to the cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas, including the preparation and the organisation of events occasioned by the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great War for the Defence of Homeland.
As the Russian president Vladimir Putin attended the CIS summit for the last time in his capacity of a president, he expressed gratitude to his CIS counterparts for fruitful cooperation, at the highest level. They expressed hope to further strengthen the interaction amongst the CIS states, in order to multi-dimensionally develop the member-countries.
As did other heads of the CIS states, Vladimir Voronin attended a festive concert in the Kremlin’s State Palace on the occasion of the Homeland Defender Day.
