Chisinau's civil budget, active starting February 1

The residents of Chisinau are invited to submit public interest projects under the "Civil Budget Chisinau" Program, edition 2025, starting from February 1. According to the city's municipality, the program's objective is to actively involve citizens in the local decision-making process, encouraging them to propose and contribute to projects with a positive impact on the community, IPN reports.

Projects will be categorized into large projects, with budgets ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 lei, and small projects, with budgets ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 lei. The initiatives will be reviewed and validated by a committee composed of representatives from the municipality and civil society. If necessary, they will be put to a public vote before being approved for funding.

The program is open to both individuals and legal entities, with individual or team participation. Each participant/team can submit one or up to two project proposals.

An important aspect of the program is ensuring co-financing: 1% of the project's value for individuals and 20% for legal entities.

For large projects, applicants must collect at least 200 signatures from citizens, while for small projects, at least 100 signatures are required.

The application file should be sent both electronically to the address bugetcivil@pmc.md and in paper format to the Public Relations and Civil Budget Department (office 8), Chisinau City Hall.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 28, 2025, at 17:00.

The "Civil Budget Chisinau," edition 2025, has a funding allocation of 3 million lei from the municipal budget.
