Chisinau's center becomes pedestrian area during weekends
Starting tomorrow, September 8, Chisinau's central part will become a pedestrian area on Saturdays and Sundays as an experiment, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a City Hall’s press release, the pedestrian area will include Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Boulevard, the segment between the streets Pushkin and Mitrpolit Varlaam; Mihai Eminescu Street, between the streets 31 August 1989 and Mitropolit Varlaam; and Vlaicu Parcalab Street, between the streets 31 August 1989 and Mitropolit Varlaam).
Traffic signs will be installed in the area for this purpose and vehicles will be denied access, with the exception of special transportation. Furthermore, cultural events will take place in the pedestrian area.
Trolleybus, bus and minibus routes will be detoured.
