Chisinau will host the meeting of the energetic regional association
The meeting of the Prices committee of the Energetic Resources Regional Association (ERRA) will be held In Chisinau on 14-15 September, a meeting also attended by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), and by members of the National Association of communal enterprises management from the USA. The meeting will be financially supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The event will be attended by regulation authorities from 19 countries, including European Union members, as Latvia, Poland, Hungary, USA, and responsible persons from ERRA, USAID and the KEMA Consulting GmbH Company from Germany.
The schedule of the meeting from Chisinau plans for the discussion of current issues, as the taxation of energetic losses, review of the taxes for energy distribution, graduate and, eventually, the full annihilation of the subsidizing between the consumer categories. The participants will also examine reports regarding the prices of electricity from various reusable energy sources, and will analyze the efficiency of these sources, and will discuss the 2007 action plan.
ANRE will present a report on the experience gathered by the national authority in adjusting prices for electricity distribution. The ANRE representatives will profit at the meeting from the experience sharing required in the adaptation of national documents to European standards.
The taxes and prices committee is one of the two permanent committees from ERRA, and is responsible for reports, analyses and other documents for discussions, information and experience interchange. ERRA has been formed in December 2000 by the energetic regulation authorities of 15 countries from Europe and Asia, including the Republic of Moldova. ERRA’s main goal is to contribute to the improvement of the energetic sectors of its members, to develop a reliable and independent regulation authority, and to improve collaboration of the structures. At present, ERRA is made up of regulation authorities from 22 countries of the Central and Eastern Europe and CIS.
