Chisinau to host first Mass Media Forum

The first Mass Media Forum of Moldova will take place in Chisinau on October 27 and 28, organized by the Press Council of Moldova. More than 120 journalists, editors and experts from the country and abroad are expected to take part in it, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Press Council says the event will focus on the main problems faced by the journalistic community. The possible solutions to them will be discussed with the journalists and editors and a roadmap will be worked out to create and strengthen a climate of loyal competition and editorial independence of the mass media outlets.

A debate on the public policies on mass media and six workshops on the most topical themes will take place on the first day of the event. For the second day, the organizers invited three media experts from abroad. In the last part of the event, there will be discussed and adopted the Forum’s Resolution and the roadmap for the authorities.

The online platform www.mediaforum.md, which is the official website of the Mass Media Forum 2015, which contains a section with comprehensive information about this event, including the list of experts and speakers, the event’s agenda and official press releases. From October 2, those who want to take part in the forum can register online by filling out a form that is available on the website. The list of selected participants will be published five days before the forum.

The event is organized in partnership with the Association of Independent Press, the Independent Journalism Center, the Electronic Press Association and the Young Journalist’s Center of Moldova. It is financed by the Mass Media Program of Soros Foundation Moldova and co-financed by the Council of Europe and East Europa Foundation.
