Chisinau seismic station registered a small earthquake on Saturday
The Chisinau seismic station registered on September 23 in the morning a small earthquake, which was virtually imperceptible for most of the Chisinau’s population.
The earthquake was registered by the seismic activity detection stations on 8:44, and its magnitude was 2 – 2.5 points of the Richter scale.
The earthquake didn’t have a high intensity, as the depth at which the seismic waves traveled was approximately 150 km.
The focus of the earthquake was in the Vrancea Mountains, and the distance from the epicenter to Chisinau was approximately 240 km.
The last earthquake that was felt by the Chisinau residents was this year on March 6. It had a magnitude of approximately 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale.
