A German-based company has won the bid organized last week by the Municipality Chisinau regarding the acquisition of 20 units of fixtures for snow removing. The interim mayor, Vasile Ursu, has told Info Prim that the unit price of such a fixture is of EUR 190,000. The acquired lot is supposed to be imported till autumn this year in Chisinau. He has mentioned that the fixtures are multifunctional. During winter time it can be used for snow clearing and sand covering, and during summer time, due to some adjustments, for summer works. MDL 50,000 were allocated from the municipal budget to the acquisition of such equipment. The chief of community affairs from the local administration, Mihai Solcan, has previously declared to Info-Prim Neo that the Municipality has the intention to acquire 50-60 units of equipment for snow clearing from specialized West European companies. According to Mr. Solcan, The Municipality does not possess specialized equipment for snow clearing, and in summer works, there are involved just 500 persons, form the required 1150. He also mentioned that once the equipment is acquired, the need of employing extra staff will cease.
